Allow me to introduce myself…
For those of you that do no know me, allow me to introduce myself…
My username is Tahiri Veila (naturally not my real name) and I came by Ashla Knights via a close friendship with Master Thompson (Derek). Derek and I always seem to get into a number of discussions on varying topics and he was always suggesting that I join his site and share my thoughts and ideas with others. After several months of his suggesting I join, I joined this community in February to share in intellectual and philosophical discussions and to study at his Ashla Academy.
I am 26 and currently living in Boston, Massachusetts, although I spend a lot of time traveling in my career. I am a graduate of Princeton University, with degrees in Literature and Psychology and a minor in Drama. I also have taken some post-graduate courses in Business. I am currently working as a financial professional in the Boston area.
I come from a difficult past. I lost my innocence at a young age. I believe that everything in life happens for a reason, even if it takes a lifetime to realize what that reason is. For me it was to help others copes, having been down this journey myself and become a survivor. As for my spiritual journey, I was raised in a non-devout Catholic family. I ventured away from the Christian faith in my early teens and began studying varying religions and philosophies in a quest to discover my own spiritual path. The path I have been on for a number of years is similar to that of the Jedi path taught here at Ashla. I am currently working my way through the Academy as a means to further strengthen my own path and gain new insights and knowledge.
Derek (Master Thompson) tells me I am “worldly” and “insightful” for my age given all of the traveling, education, and experiences I have had thus far. It is a nice compliment coming from a man I greatly respect. I will leave that for each of you that read this Holocron to ultimately decide. This Holocron will be about life, spirituality, and my own insights. I hope those who read it will find it purposeful. I look forward to your thoughts, questions and comments to posts.
