I acknowledge that there are many external influences factored into my choices, and those same outside influences affect my enviroment. But does that mean I do not have free will? Definately not, in the words of Vergere: “Choose, and act”. There are certainly other factors, but they are only as important as I make them.

Most people who don’t acknowledge free will use the concepts of fate and destiny as cop-outs, they feel helpless and as such create a self-fullfilling prophecy. If you know without a doubt that you life is controlled by something or everything external, it will be. In my mind, it’s all a matter of choice. If you choose not to develop and use your will power, you will be controlled by something other than yourself.

Love is probably the most natural emotion we have. I would theorize that it most likely comes from the fact that everything is connected, and yet there is the individual. I feel this emotion to a high degree every day in the presence of family members, but, intellectually, I dislike it. Why, because while it seems to be the most natural, it is undoubtably the most dangerous, as it is the hardest to control. It has far more potential to emotionally and mentally “blind” people. Anger, for example, is less complex, easier to comprehend, and therefore easier to cultivate, “breath” out, and generally easier to control. Taking this into account, it is a high priority for me, as a Sith, to explore my love: what causes it, why I feel that way for someone/something. In comparison to hate, its assumed opposite, it has a soft but firm feeling, and hate seems to have a sharp but erratic/jagged feeling. Love also seems to occur in extremely varying degree’s; so much so that there are other names for it in accordance to its strength and object of focus: mainly Compassion, and “True” Love. Compassion is described as love of all things in a general sense, and is probably the least intense for most people. “True” Love is usually specifically directed to one person and has the most strength and potential to blind.
