In any case, there is a huge difference between the old testament & the new one. Once Jesus was sacrificed & arose, it made everything new, the former ways have passed a way. It was in that that God made a new covenant w/man. in whosoever believe in Jesus has everlasting life. (dont mean to sound preachy)
So angels arent sent to destroy man. Michael is basically the commander of the armies of Heaven & is supposed to lead an army against satan & his minions,those who bear the mark of satan. Not to come here & kill man.

Anyway, I like how you ended this post. Not lending to the 2012 crap, there is a feeling felt by so many in regards to something is coming. I think we are all tied to the universe, we are all energy thus those who are intune with that inner power, inner force, soul, whatever you call it, are probably the ones who feel it most because they have tuned their energy that way.
